Bengals take care of Ravens

The Ravens (8-8) are no longer in the running to defend their Super Bowl title. Cincinnati (11-5) stomped the Ravens 34-17 to eliminate them from playoff contention.

The offense struggled mightily and nothing seemed to go right for the Ravens (8-7) in their 41-7 loss to the Patriots (11-4).

The Ravens (7-6) kept their grasp on the second wild card spot in the AFC playoffs in one of the craziest games this season has seen. Baltimore needed two quick scores to beat the Vikings (3-9-1) 29-26 Sunday afternoon.

Bad weather played a part in this game from the start and it showed until the fourth quarter.

Ravens edge Steelers 22-20

The Ravens (6-6) have found their way back in to the playoff picture with a 22-20 Thanksgiving night victory over the arch-rival Pittsburgh Steelers (5-7).

In a typical body bag game between these two bitter rivals, Ben Roethlisberger stared down the Ravens’ defense to drive the Steelers to three touchdowns. However, the defense got the better of Roethlisberger on a failed two-point conversion attempt to Emmanuel Sanders.

Ravens beat Jets, get closer in playoff chase

Jacoby Jones had his best game of the season catching four passes for 103 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens (5-6) 19-3 victory over the New York Jets (5-6) Sunday afternoon. Jones also had several big returns on punts.

In a mostly defensive battle, both Joe Flacco and Geno Smith battled windy conditions. The rookie, Smith, turned the ball over three times, including two interceptions.

The Ravens (4-6) aren’t quite done playing this season, but the season may just be over for the defending Super Bowl champions.

Ravens beat Bengals in overtime with Tucker field goal

Kicker Justin Tucker bailed out safety James Ihedigbo with a clutch 46-yard field goal in overtime to deliver the Ravens (4-5) a 20-17 victory over the Bengals (6-4).

The win snaps a three-game losing streak for the Ravens.

Turnovers, inept offense doom Maryland in loss to Syracuse

Maryland (5-4, 1-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) failed for the third consecutive game to become bowl eligible for the first time in three seasons.

Syracuse (5-4, 3-2) held the Terps’ offense to just three points in their 20-3 victory and forced four turnovers.

Ravens lose to Cleveland

For the first time since Joe Flacco and John Harbaugh began with the Ravens (3-5), the Cleveland Browns (4-5) won Sunday afternoon.

The Browns used a long fourth quarter drive to put the Ravens away by a score of 24-18. The key play was a muffed Tandon Doss punt in the third quarter that led to Cleveland’s third touchdown of the game.

Another offensive struggle for the Ravens (3-4) led to a 19-16 loss to the hated Steelers (2-4).
