The University of Maryland Terrapins (13-1, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) dominated the Virginia Tech Hokies (9-5, 0-1 ACC) from the opening tip Saturday afternoon.
Two of the freshmen in this impressive class looked great in the Maryland’s 94-71 victory. Jake Layman and Seth Allen were two of the four Terrapins in double figures.
Layman carried the team in the first half with four 3-pointers and Allen played well in the second half.
As usual, there’s always room for improvement. At times, the Terps were outrebounded and they had a few misses at the foul line.
Overall, Maryland looked terrific to open their conference schedule. They will face Florida State Wednesday night.
