A hot start and a nail-biting finish. That’s the best way to describe the Maryland Terrapins’ (10-1, 0-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) 76-69 victory over the Stony Brook Seawolves (8-3, 0-0 America East Conference).
Led by Alex Len (19 points) and Dez Wells (19 points) the Terps built a big first half lead.
Maryland knocked down a bunch of 3-pointers, but still had to hang on after they had lapses in their play in the second half.
Stony Brook stuck around, but it wasn’t enough.
The victory was the Terps’ 10th straight victory since their loss to then-No. 3 Kentucky to open the season. Maryland takes the court next Saturday against Delaware State.
