The Maryland (3-1, 0-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) men’s basketball team continued to build momentum for the season with their third consecutive victory. They defeated Lafayette (1-4, 0-0 Patriot League) 83-74 Tuesday night in the final game of the Barclays Center Classic.
The Terps struggled at the foul line and defending the three pointer, but Lafayette was overmatched due to the Terps’ size and strength, particularly on rebounds.
Maryland’s usual suspects, Alex Len, Charles Mitchell, Dez Wells and Nick Faust all played well. This game looked like more a tune up than anything else. Maryland needs a tune up for their game next Tuesday at Northwestern next Tuesday night. It will be their first true road test of the season.
Maryland plays Saturday night against Georgia Southern. They have a chance to go 4-1 and continue to develop their talent.
