Just when everything seemed to be coming together for the Ravens (10-4), they lose a game they had to have. The San Diego Chargers (7-7) scored on every possession but one to beat up the Ravens 34-14 Sunday night.
Philip Rivers wasted no time getting a lead on the Ravens. After a Billy Cundiff missed field goal, his third in three weeks, Rivers drove San Diego 74 yards for a touchdown.
Joe Flacco answered, but Rivers drove the Chargers right back down the field. San Diego never looked back.
All night long Jimmy Smith and Cary Williams couldn’t cover Malcolm Floyd and Vincent Jackson.
On the side, Flacco threw two bad interceptions and couldn’t do much of anything against the Chargers’ defense. San Diego just beat up the Ravens.
Now, the Ravens are back to where they’ve been the last few seasons: looking up at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Baltimore needs to take care of business Saturday against the Cleveland Browns and hope that the Steelers lose to the San Francisco 49ers Monday night.
