On a miserable day in College Park, Md., the University of Maryland (2-6, 1-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) lost to the Boston College Eagles (1-4, 2-6) 28-17 . From the start, this game was sloppy. There were turnovers, missed field goals and not too many passing yards.
C.J. Brown got the initial nod at quarterback, but couldn’t get anything going. Brown was replaced by quarterback Danny O’Brien.
O’Brien couldn’t do much, either. That is until the fourth quarter. O’Brien hit Adrian Coxson for a 55-yard touchdown. It was the Terps’ only touchdown of the day.
Kicker Nick Ferrara made one of his three field goals, a 33-yarder.
The season-long defensive slump continued. Maryland allowed the Eagles to gain 372 yards on the ground, including 243 to Rolandan Finch. Finch also scored two of Boston College’s four touchdowns on the day.
There’s really not much else to say about this game. Maryland plays their final home game of the season next week against rival Virginia.
