In another game that wasn’t complete, the Baltimore Ravens (8-3) defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-4) 17-10 Sunday afternoon.
Joe Flacco had another solid game completing 25 passes for 289 yards, along with two touchdowns. However, Flacco did throw his first interception at home. The interception was an amazing catch by Tampa’s Aqib Talib. Talib caught the ball between his legs before going to the ground.
Baltimore was able to hold the Buccaneers to a field goal after the interception. The field goal tied the game at three and then the Ravens asserted themselves.
Flacco threw a 65 yard pass to tight end Todd Heap to give the Ravens a 10-3 lead. A couple minutes later, Flacco completed a pass to Derrick Mason in the end zone for a 17-3 lead.
Baltimore didn’t do much offensively after that and was content to hand the ball to Ray Rice. Rice ran the ball 20 times for 85 yards and also had seven receptions for 47 yards.
Tampa quarterback Josh Freeman tried to mount a comeback. He threw for a touchdown to tight end Kellen Winslow in the fourth quarter to cut the Ravens’ lead to 17-10. It wasn’t enough and Tampa fell short.
The concern for the Ravens, going in to next week, are injuries to left tackle Michael Oher and safety Dawan Landry. Oher left the game with a knee injury and there have been reports that Landry has a concussion. Next week is a big game with the Pittsburgh Steelers so look for Oher to probably play.
