Finally the bye week for the Baltimore Ravens is over. They get back in action this Sunday to take on the Miami Dolphins.
It’s an interesting matchup because Miami has all four of their wins on the road and the Ravens are undefeated at home. Baltimore is rested and healthy while Miami just came off of a physical game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Fins have had trouble getting the ball in to the end zone, but Dan Carpenter has been solid, kicking 10 field goals the last two weeks.
The Ravens get wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth back from a broken foot and a well-rested Ed Reed. It will be interesting to see how the coaching staff works Stallworth in to the game, but expect to see him on special teams and in certain passing packages. Although Reed came back two weeks ago against the Buffalo Bills, a rest had to do his hip some good.
Miami’s run defense has been fairly stout, allowing just 101 yards per game, while the Baltimore rush offense gains 114 yards per game. The part of the game that the Ravens will have to win is via the passing game. Joe Flacco has been fantastic since his four interception game in Week 2 against the Bengals. The Ravens gain 225 yards per contest through the air, while Miami yields just 208 yards through the air.
If Flacco can connect with Anquan Boldin, Stallworth, Derrick Mason and the rest of the pass catchers, it could be a very long day for the Dolphins.
For Miami to win, they will have to attack the Ravens with quarterback Chad Henne. Miami is ranked 12th in passing offense, averaging 232.4 yards per game. Baltimore has been shaky against the pass the last couple times out so Miami should attack their secondary.
In a game of undefeated teams in their environment, the Ravens will pull out the win 27-17.
